Presentation

A meeting of Corsican tradition, bel canto and creativity, brought to life by generous voices and a profound passion for music.

Passione’s vocal work is deeply rooted in Corsica’s musical heritage, from which the group draws its creative inspiration. Tradition is their raw material and the foundation of their compositions. Far from confining themselves to a “vocal museum,” they enrich their music with a wide range of cultural and musical influences.

Passione was created by tenor and lyricist Benoît Rusterucci and cellist, singer, composer and arranger Jean-Louis Blaineau.

Both in the studio and on stage, Benoît Rusterucci fully reveals the natural power and range of his voice. A passionate and generous singer, eager to explore new musical worlds, he was naturally drawn to the charms of bel canto. He writes most of the group’s lyrics, finding inspiration in everyday life, history, love, friendship and his boundless imagination.

Jean-Louis Blaineau began studying cello and singing at the Geneva Conservatory at the age of five, before continuing his musical education at the Henri Tomasi Conservatory in Ajaccio. He began his professional career at the age of fourteen, accompanying and performing with some of Corsica’s best-known singers and groups. He has also composed for several of them, as well as for artists and choirs beyond the island.

It was only natural that he should join forces with his childhood friend Benoît to create Passione. Friends from their village of Appietu and the surrounding area later joined them in this musical adventure.

Step into the world of Corsican musical culture by attending a concert of polyphonic singing.
